Basketball Recap: Kings Way Christian School Comes Up Short

Kings Way Christian School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against Varsity Opponent, falling 56-27. The Crusaders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-17.

Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Drew Hayman, who posted seven points and nine boards. Hayman has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jed Yarnall, who earned four points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Kings Way Christian School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Kings Way Christian School's loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Kings Way Christian School will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sugar Hill Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Varsity Opponent, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 80-77 loss against Specially Fit Academy on the 17th.
