Baseball Recap: Laguna Acoma Comes Up Short

Laguna Acoma dropped their record down to 12-8 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They lost 14-3 to the Rehoboth Christian Lynx. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hawks have suffered since April 3rd.

As for Rehoboth Christian, their record now sits at 8-10. The victory continues a trend for them in their matchups with Laguna Acoma: they've now won three in a row.

For Rehoboth Christian's part, Trajen West made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. West was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since April 1st.

In other batting news, Kodah Chapman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Rehoboth Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Zylstra, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Rehoboth Christian beat Laguna Acoma by a score of 17-4 later that day.
