Melissa Purcella Game Report: @ Rio Grande

Albuquerque Academy took down Rio Grande on Saturday, a win that might not have happened without Melissa Purcella's standout performance. Purcella was dynamite, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Purcella and Albuquerque Academy will take on Bernalillo at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last time Purcella took on the Spartans, she was just phenomenal, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk).
