Soccer Recap: Reedy's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Lions on Friday. The Reedy Lions's defense stepped up to hand the Turner Lions a 1-0 shutout. Given Reedy's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Turner is ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Reedy's one-goal win came courtesy of Alyssa Shioya, who's now up to seven this season.

The win made it two in a row for Reedy and bumps their season record up to 6-3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matchups. As for Turner, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4-4.

Coming up, Reedy will take on Highland Park at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Turner, they will be playing at home against Wakeland at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Turner's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
