Triton Central had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Greenwood Woodmen 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since April 16, 2024.

Triton Central's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brylie Couch, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Triton Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in nine consecutive games.

Triton Central pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Greenwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.
