Preview: Father Capodanno Grunts vs. Falcon Christian Academy Warriors
The Father Capodanno Grunts will head out on the road to square off against the Falcon Christian Academy Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Father Capodanno will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 664th, while Falcon Christian Academy is ranked 178th).
Last Thursday, Father Capodanno ended up a good deal behind LifeSpring Academy and lost 72-54. Father Capodanno has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Falcon Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Calvary Baptist Church, posting a 75-33 win on the road. Falcon Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 41 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Jordan McMillian, who scored 22 points along with four steals. McMillian is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Meech McDaniel was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight assists and four steals.
Father Capodanno's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Falcon Christian Academy, their victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0.
Father Capodanno was dealt a bruising 98-54 loss at the hands of Falcon Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Father Capodanno, Jalyn McMillian (who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
