Softball Preview: Governor Mifflin Mustangs vs. Warwick Warriors
The Governor Mifflin Mustangs are taking a road trip to face off against the Warwick Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Governor Mifflin put up the most runs they have all season on Monday. Everything went their way against Reading as they made off with a 21-5 win. The Mustangs not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 26, 2024.
Meanwhile, Warwick never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Cedar Crest with a sharp 17-0 victory. Considering the Warriors have won three games by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Warwick got a massive performance out of Marlee Martin, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Martin a new career-high. Brooklyn Nolt was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
Warwick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Governor Mifflin's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Warwick, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
