Basketball Recap: Dawson Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Dawson Dragons took a blow against the Borden County Coyotes, falling 66-18. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1408th, while the Coyotes are ranked 219th).

This is the second loss in a row for Dawson and nudges their season record down to 5-10. As for Borden County, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dawson will welcome Loop at 6:30 p.m. on January 10th. As for Borden County, they will host Sands at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Borden County has won 16 straight at home dating back to last season, while Sands won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
