Recap: Lakewood Tigers vs. Adams City Eagles
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 21 more assists than your opponent, a fact the Lakewood Tigers proved on Thursday. They breezed by Adams City on the road to the tune of 72-26. With that win, Lakewood brought their scoring average up to 59.5 points per game.
Lakewood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dyani Parrish, who scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Aaliyah Perea was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Adams City's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Morgan Williams, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds. Williams scored a full 42.3% of Adams City's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ivonne Castaneda, who scored 4 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
The win got Lakewood back to even at 1-1. As for Adams City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Lakewood will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Prairie View at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. As for Adams City, they will face off against Kennedy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Kennedy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday.
