Flag Football Recap: Marina Takes a Loss

Marina had lost five straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 4-15 to make it six. They took a blow against the Newport Harbor Sailors, falling 45-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sailors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 27-7 back in September.

As for Newport Harbor, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 22-2. Considering they have won 11 games by more than 19 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Newport Harbor found their leader in sophomore Scarlett Guyser, who threw for 146 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.5% of her passes, and also rushed for 65 yards on only seven carries.

Marina does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newport Harbor, they will take on Aliso Niguel at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
