Baseball Recap: Westhampton Beach Takes a Loss

Westhampton Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 8-5 to the Comsewogue Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-2 defeat on Wednesday.

Shane Jennerich was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. Reese Smith also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Westhampton Beach's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Comsewogue, they pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Westhampton Beach will welcome Riverhead at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Comsewogue, they will head out on the road to take on Hauppauge at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
