Basketball Recap: Warrensburg Drops Season-High Score on Seton Catholic Central

Warrensburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They fell 66-58 to the Seton Catholic Central Knights. One positive for the Burgers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Warrensburg lost, don't look at Owen Jones. Despite the final result, he posted 40 points. Jones' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Michael Mannix was his usual excellent self, going 14 for 27 en route to 38 points and six steals for Seton Catholic Central. Mannix is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played. Oliver Hughes was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to seven assists and five steals.

Warrensburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Seton Catholic Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Warrensburg will square off against Fort Ann at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th. Seton Catholic Central has already played their next contest, a 54-44 loss against Chazy on the 31st.
