Football Recap: Sallisaw Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Sallisaw extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 4-1. They came out on top against the Broken Bow Savages by a score of 40-30. For the Black Diamonds, this counts as revenge for the 56-14 victory the Savages walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Kase Adams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 94 yards and two TDs, while also throwing for 161 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes. Those two rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jackson Harris, who rushed for 119 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sallisaw was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 227 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Another reason for the win was Sallisaw's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Broken Bow's QB won't forget Hunter Smith anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

Having lost for the first time this season, Broken Bow fell to 4-1. The loss was their first of the season.

When it comes to explaining why Broken Bow lost, don't look at Greydon Howell. Despite the final result, he rushed for 127 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries, and also threw for 364 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per attempt. Howell's longest rush was for an impressive 64 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Jattairrius Neal was another key player, gaining 145 total yards and a touchdown.

Coming up, Sallisaw will host McLain Science & Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Broken Bow, they will head out on the road to face off against Stilwell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Savages are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
