Basketball Recap: Castle Triumphs

The third road match was the charm for Castle, as they earned their first road win of the season. They walked away with a 59-48 win over the Lawrenceburg Tigers on Friday.

Xander Niehaus went supernova for Castle, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. With that strong performance, Niehaus is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Jakob Wongler was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Despite the defeat, Lawrenceburg had strong showings from Noah Knigga, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds, and Kaleb Cole, who posted 13 points. Cole continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-5. As for Lawrenceburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Castle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 61-55 loss against Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian on the 28th. As for Lawrenceburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-49 win against Beech Grove on the 28th.
