 After seven games on the road, Gibson Southern is heading back home. They will take on the North Posey Vikings at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Gibson Southern will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  contest than the last.
 Last Monday, Gibson Southern earned  a  14-9 victory over Evansville Mater Dei.
  Carly Potts made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned  (and seven unearned) runs off   seven  hits (she also only allowed one  walk). Potts has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Potts was also big at the plate,  going 4-for-5 with  an  RBI.
 In other batting news, Gibson Southern let  Lauryn Adamson and  Laney Scherer loose on the outfield. Adamson  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances, while  Scherer  scored two  runs while going 3-for-5.  Ally Malone was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of her six plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, North Posey got themselves on the board against Forest Park on Monday, but Forest Park never followed suit. They blew past the Rangers 7-0. The  win was just what North Posey needed coming off of  a  12-2 defeat in their prior  matchup.
 Gibson Southern pushed their record up to 5-2 with that  victory, which was their eighth straight  on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.3 runs per game. As for North Posey, they now  have a winning record of 2-1.
 Gibson Southern came up short against North Posey in their previous meeting  back in April of 2023, falling  4-1. Thankfully for Gibson Southern,  Erin Hoehn (who   didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched) won't be suiting up this time.
