Basketball Game Preview: Calverton vs. Takoma Academy Tigers

Calverton is 0-6 against Takoma Academy since February of 2017 but things could change on Monday. Calverton will welcome the Takoma Academy Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 82-46, which was the final score in Calverton's tilt against Avalon on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Calverton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while Avalon is ranked 109th).

Meanwhile, Takoma Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 66-61 to Coolidge.

This is the second loss in a row for Calverton and nudges their season record down to 4-11. As for Takoma Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season.
