Soccer Recap: Hampton Comes Up Short

Hampton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 9-0 to the Locust Grove Wildcats. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since February 27, 2018, but that streak is no more.

Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Locust Grove, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampton will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Newton at 5:30 p.m. on the 18th. As for Locust Grove, they will challenge Jackson at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Locust Grove will be up against Jackson's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.91 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
