Softball Game Preview: Culpeper County Blue Devils vs. Albemarle Patriots

The Culpeper County Blue Devils will challenge the Albemarle Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Culpeper County will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Culpeper County headed into their last game having not scored more than two runs for four straight, but James Monroe let them put that streak behind them. The Blue Devils blew past the Yellow Jackets 11-1 on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Blue Devils as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Albemarle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against Goochland, falling 10-4.

Albemarle saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mela Gibson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Albemarle's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Culpeper County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

Culpeper County took their win against Albemarle in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 14-1 score. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
