Basketball Recap: Clewiston Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Clewiston won the last time they faced Okeechobee, and Abria Askew did her part to make sure it happened again. The Clewiston Tigers snuck past the Okeechobee Brahmans with a 30-26 win on Thursday thanks in part to Askew, who went 7 for 13 en route to 15 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Clewiston's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-6. As for Okeechobee, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Clewiston and Okeechobee could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Clewiston (ranked 404th) will meet First Baptist Academy (ranked 35th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clewiston is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Meanwhile, Okeechobee will face off against Treasure Coast at 6:00 p.m. on Monday down 282 places (486 vs. 204).
