Basketball Recap: Taft Beats Kennedy for Their Third Straight Victory

Taft extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Ernie Laulu. The Taft Wildcats snuck past the Kennedy Thunderbirds with a 45-40 victory on Tuesday thanks in part to Laulu, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points.

When it comes to explaining why Kennedy lost, don't look at Zikeem Dozer. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points. The dominant performance also gave Dozer a new career-high in boards (four).

Taft has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Kennedy, they dropped their record down to 6-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Taft has already played their next contest, a 43-35 win against Shafter on the 24th. As for Kennedy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-30 victory against Delano on the 23rd.
