Basketball Game Preview: Proviso West Panthers vs. York Dukes

Proviso West is 0-10 against York since January of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Proviso West Panthers will head out to take on the York Dukes at 6:30 p.m.

It was a proper cat-fight when Proviso West duked it out withLyons on Friday. Proviso West was outmatched by Lyons and fell 74-19. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Lions are ranked first).

Meanwhile, York posted their biggest win since November 18th on Friday. They claimed a resounding 48-21 victory over Oak Park-River Forest. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-11.

York's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5. As for Proviso West, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Proviso West was taken down by York 60-33 when the teams last played back in January. Can Proviso West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
