Baseball Recap: Clearfield Drops Season-High Score on Greater Johnstown

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clearfield). They walked away with a 15-10 win over the Greater Johnstown Trojans on Tuesday. With that victory, the Bison brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on O'Brian Owens, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Christian Welker was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Clearfield hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in nine consecutive contests.

The win got Clearfield back to even at 8-8. As for Greater Johnstown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clearfield will square off against St. Marys at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Greater Johnstown, they will face off against Penn Cambria at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
