Baseball Recap: Cambria Heights Comes Up Short

Cambria Heights was the 15-10 winner over Penn Cambria when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Highlanders fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-4 on Thursday.

Cambria Heights saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Swander, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. Another was Stephen Nelen, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Cambria Heights has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season. As for Penn Cambria, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Cambria Heights will welcome West Shamokin at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Highlanders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Penn Cambria, they are taking a road trip to square off against Bishop McCort at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
