Volleyball Recap: Nipomo Extends Winning Streak to Six

Nipomo waltzed into their contest on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Bishop Diego Cardinals by a score of 2-0. The Titans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cardinals, too.

Nipomo easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-12.

Addison Stegenga paced Nipomo's offense, picking up six kills. Stegenga got some help from Raelynn Ortiz and her 15 assists. Stegenga was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Nipomo's victory bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Bishop Diego, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-13 record this season.

Nipomo and Bishop Diego should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Titans will square off against Templeton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (204 vs. 653). Meanwhile, Bishop Diego (ranked 413th) will meet Del Sol (ranked 1322nd) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
