Basketball Game Preview: Clay City Eels vs. Cloverdale Clovers

The Clay City Eels will face off against the Cloverdale Clovers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Clay City knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Cloverdale likes a good challenge.

Clay City will bounce into Saturday's match after beating Bloomfield, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Clay City managed a 68-64 win over Bloomfield on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Cloverdale hadn't done well against North Putnam recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Cloverdale walked away with a 58-46 victory over North Putnam.

Clay City's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Cloverdale, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Everything went Clay City's way against Cloverdale in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Clay City made off with a 67-46 win. Will Clay City repeat their success, or does Cloverdale have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
