Basketball Recap: Glenwood Springs Comes Up Short

Glenwood Springs and Pueblo Central squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Glenwood Springs had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Pueblo Central Wildcats by a score of 73-71. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (65), the Demons still had to take the loss.

Pueblo Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tayvon Evans, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine assists. The dominant performance gave Evans a new career-high in assists. Jayden Jones was another key player, putting up 24 points.

Glenwood Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Pueblo Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-10.

Glenwood Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pueblo Central, they will face off against Mesa Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mesa Ridge will roll in looking for their 23rd straight win, something Pueblo Central surely won't give up without a fight.
