Football Recap: Plainview's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

After flying high against Wisner-Pilger last Friday, Plainview came back down to earth. The Pirates fell 38-26 to the Crofton Warriors on Friday. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 44-34 to the Warriors when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the defeat, Plainview saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kobe Maertins rushed for 56 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 127 yards and one TD.

Tyson Jackson was nothing short of spectacular for Crofton: he rushed for 174 yards and four scores. Jackson is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 157 every time he's taken the field this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Plainview fell to 2-1. As for Crofton, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Plainview and Crofton will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Pirates are set to face off against their familiar foe Elkhorn Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Crofton will take on rival Bloomfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
