Preview: Lutheran Northwest Crusaders vs. Everest Collegiate
Lutheran Northwest is 0-5 against Everest Collegiate since August of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lutheran Northwest Crusaders will head out on the road to face off against the Everest Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Lutheran Northwest sitting on three straight wins and Everest Collegiate on six.
Lutheran Northwest can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bradford Academy 42-8 at home.
JJ Helmer and Nathaniel Cummins were among the main playmakers for Lutheran Northwest as the former rushed for 86 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries and the latter gained 110 total yards and three touchdowns. Helmer is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Everest Collegiate beat Lutheran North 35-28 on Saturday.
Lutheran Northwest now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Everest Collegiate, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2.
Lutheran Northwest was dealt a bruising 47-7 defeat at the hands of Everest Collegiate in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can Lutheran Northwest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
