Softball Recap: Livermore Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Livermore won the last time they faced Benicia and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cowboys came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 9-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cowboys.

The team relied heavily on Sofia Traverso, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Kerigan Coates, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Livermore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .526. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in six consecutive games.

Livermore pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Benicia, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

Coming up, Livermore will square off against San Ramon Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last eight games the Wolves have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Benicia, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Alhambra at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
