The Peshtigo Bulldogs will square off against the Niagara Badgers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Peshtigo's victory against Wausaukee wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Rangers 9-7. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Ethan LaComb was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.
In other batting news, Peshtigo let Elliot Proft and Levi Nemec run wild. Proft went 3-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base, while Nemec went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Peshtigo is undefeated when Proft posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Caleb Klimek was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Niagara). They walked away with a 12-8 victory over North Dickinson on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Badgers needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Remington Buchanan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Noah Wheeler was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Gavin Neuens, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Niagara kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Peshtigo's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Niagara, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9.
Peshtigo came out on top in a nail-biter against Niagara in their previous meeting back in April of 2017, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Badgers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
