Softball Recap: Grandview Heights Extends Winning Streak to Five

Grandview Heights came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the East Tigers with a sharp 22-6 victory. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by eight runs or more this season.

Ejheni Mdivanian was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mdivanian was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Caroline Harwood was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Enderle, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

Grandview Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .591. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Grandview Heights' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for East, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Grandview Heights will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
