With a playoff win on the line, Magee rose to the challenge on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Port Gibson Blue Waves as they made off with an 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 13 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Jeremiah Cole was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Jonte Lee also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Magee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Port Gibson only posted an OBP of .273.
With the victory, Magee broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 15-9. As for Port Gibson, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
Magee will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Blue Waves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
