            Softball Recap: Sierra Vista Dons vs. Garey Vikings        
        
		
        
        
            After only one  run in their last  contest, Sierra Vista made sure to put some  runs up on the board against Garey  on Thursday. The Dons were the clear victors by  a  14-4 margin over the Vikings. With that  win, the Dons brought their scoring average up to 6.6  runs per game.

 Marlene Diaz was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out seven batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits. Diaz was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI. Those  three  RBI gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Kayla Iniguez was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Those  two  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ysabella Lopez, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 Sierra Vista  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Garey only posted  an  OBP of  .346.
Sierra Vista has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record  this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14.3 runs. As for Garey, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record  this season.
 Coincidentally, Sierra Vista and Garey will both be playing Baldwin Park the next time they take the field. The Vikings will  host the Braves at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday, while the Dons will head out to face them  at 3:30  p.m.  on  the 29th.
