Soccer Game Preview: Germantown vs. Tupelo

The Germantown Mavericks will square off against the Tupelo Golden Wave at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Germantown's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Germantown came up short against Madison Central on Tuesday, falling 6-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as the Mavericks were already down 5-0.

Meanwhile, Tupelo faced Starkville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Tupelo fell just short of Starkville by a score of 3-2. The Golden Wave have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Germantown now has a losing record at 6-7-1. As for Tupelo, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-4.
