Volleyball Recap: Wilmington Charter Takes a Loss

Wilmington Charter extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-8. They came up short against the Newark Charter School Patriots, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Force of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Newark Charter School, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Newark Charter School can attribute much of their success to Victoria Weller, who had 14 digs and one assist. Those 14 digs gave Weller a new career-high. Abigail Barnes also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Wilmington Charter has already played their next matchup (against Tower Hill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Newark Charter School, they will take on St. Mark's at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
