Basketball Game Preview: Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles vs. Lincoln County Falcons

Shelbyville Central hasn't had much luck against Lincoln County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Golden Eagles take on the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Shelbyville Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Lincoln County likes a good challenge.

Shelbyville Central will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Columbia Central, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Shelbyville Central snuck past Columbia Central with a 67-63 victory two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Lincoln County hadn't done well against Warren County recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Lincoln County came out on top in a nail-biter against Warren County, sneaking past 54-51. The win was all the more spectacular given the Falcons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Pioneers & Lady Pioneers are ranked 81st).

Shelbyville Central's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points over those games. As for Lincoln County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-15.
