Volleyball Recap: Franklin Lions vs. Centennial Spartans
Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Centennial Spartans.
Franklin was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Centennial work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-14.
Centennial's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ty'Jahnique Minter, who had 17 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Minter has posted over her last nine matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Kirkpatrick, who had 11 assists and eight digs.
Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Centennial, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Coincidentally, Franklin and Centennial will both be playing Madisonville the next time they take the court. The Lions will head out to face the Mustangs at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, while the Spartans will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
