Volleyball Recap: Avon Falcons vs. Wethersfield Eagles        
        
		
             Avon had to take a loss the last time they  took on Wethersfield but  Ainsley Evans made sure they didn't get the same satisfaction  on Friday. The Avon Falcons came out on top against the Wethersfield Eagles by a score of  3-1  thanks in part to  Evans, who  had 19  digs and six  aces. She is  on a roll when it comes to  digs, as she's  now  had 11 or more in the last three games she's  played.
 Avon had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-22, 25-21,  25-19.
  Maddie Vanvalkenburgh paced Avon's offense, picking up ten kills. Vanvalkenburgh got some help from 
 Tessa Robertson and her 22 assists. 
 Eleanor Aguilar and  Evans kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with six aces apiece.
 Avon's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Wethersfield, their loss  ended  a  six-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 14-8.
 Avon will take on Southington at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. Southington is coming into the  matchup with eight straight  wins at home,  so Avon will have to stop a  squad with plenty of momentum. Wethersfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
