Basketball Recap: Hawley Takes a Loss

Hawley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Detroit Lakes Lakers, falling 91-57. The Nuggets lost against the Lakers in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 75-66 score last time.

Hawley's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Detroit Lakes, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-3.

Hawley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Frazee at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Detroit Lakes, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting Fargo North at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Detroit Lakes knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Fargo North likes a good challenge.
