Basketball Recap: Ankeny Centennial Comes Up Short

Ankeny Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 59-40 to the Valley Tigers. If the Jaguars were looking for revenge after losing 65-49 to the Tigers when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ankeny Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Valley, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Ankeny Centennial will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Waukee at 7:45 p.m. on January 2, 2026. As for Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-23 win against Norwalk on the 20th.
