Recap: Smiths Station Panthers vs. Opelika Bulldogs
The Smiths Station Panthers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 44-40 win over Opelika. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Smiths Station also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Smiths Station to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jasmyn Thomas, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Tasha Judkins, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds.
Smiths Station's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-0. As for Opelika, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Auburn the next time they take the court. Smiths Station will host Auburn at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Opelika will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
