Baseball Recap: Charlotte S Has No Trouble Against Grace Academy

Charlotte S won the last time they faced Grace Academy and things went their way on Friday too. Charlotte S blew past Grace Academy 10-4.

Bowen Macy made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Charlotte S: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-10 otherwise.

In other pitching news, Tate Johnston looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Charlotte S is 2-1 when Johnston allowsthree or fewer hits, but 6-9 otherwise.

Back at the plate, Tommy Shaw was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Eichenlaub, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Charlotte S' record now sits at 8-10. As for Grace Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
