Baseball Recap: Blackman's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Blackman entered their tilt with Southside on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They skirted past the Panthers 5-3.

Blackman got a great performance from Andy Beveridge as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs Beveridge has allowed over his last three games.

At the plate, Blackman's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was McGuire Bolding, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Bolding a new career-high.

Blackman pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Southside, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Blackman will face off against Soddy Daisy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southside, they will take on Selma at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
