Softball Recap: Portsmouth West Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Carter, Portsmouth West was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington Blue Jays a 10-0 shutout. The Senators not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 21st (when they won 17-7).

Kyleigh McCleese was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Lainey Cook was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Portsmouth West's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington, they dropped their record down to 3-15 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

As of now, neither Portsmouth West nor the Blue Jays have any future games scheduled.
