McCreary Central was handed a 18-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Oneida Indians, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted since April 8th.

Ava Stephens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Makayla Stephens was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

McCreary Central moved to 6-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Oneida, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.

McCreary Central will host Wayne County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oneida, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wartburg Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
