Basketball Game Preview: Washington Wildcats vs. Atchison Phoenix

Washington is 0-10 against Atchison since February of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Washington Wildcats will square off against the Atchison Phoenix. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Washington is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Wyandotte on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Washington had to suffer through a 64-25 loss at the hands of Wyandotte. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-15.

Meanwhile, Atchison came up short against Highland Park on Saturday and fell 50-42. The Phoenix haven't had much luck with the Scots recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Atchison, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Washington lost to Atchison on the road by a decisive 41-26 margin in their previous matchup back in January. Can Washington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
