Recap: Benjamin Russell Wildcats vs. Auburn Tigers
The Benjamin Russell Wildcats entered their tilt with the Auburn Tigers with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Benjamin Russell snuck past the Tigers with a 50-46 victory on Monday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Benjamin Russell's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Tigers are ranked 15th).
When it comes to explaining why Auburn lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tabari Allen. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Antwane Daniels, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Benjamin Russell pushed their record up to 13-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Auburn, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-5.
