Preview: Olathe Northwest Ravens vs. Shawnee Mission North Bison
The Olathe Northwest Ravens will head out on the road to face off against the Shawnee Mission North Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Olathe Northwest is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Thursday, everything went Olathe Northwest's way against Shawnee Mission West as Olathe Northwest made off with a 34-14 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Olathe Northwest just coasted through the last quarter.
Among those leading the charge was Merak Greinert, who rushed for 56 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 112 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Shawnee Mission North had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 28-17 victory over Olathe West on Thursday.
Shawnee Mission North got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeremiah Looney out in front who rushed for 55 yards and two touchdowns. Shawnee Mission North also got a significant boost from Judah Jones, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 151 yards.
Their wins bumped Olathe Northwest to 1-6 and Shawnee Mission North to 2-5.
Olathe Northwest strolled past Shawnee Mission North when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a score of 24-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Olathe Northwest since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
