Volleyball Recap: Melody Valerio and Andrea Salgado Secure Win for Pace

Pace won the last time they faced Mercedes and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Vikings put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Pace's got stronger as the match went on, holding Mercedes to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-17, 25-15.

Pace was led to victory by Andrea Salgado and Melody Valerio. Salgado had 14 digs and two assists, while Valerio had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Valerio has posted since back in August.

They weren't the only good server: Pace was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive matches.

Pace's win bumped their record up to 25-6. As for Mercedes, they dropped their record down to 5-9 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
