Basketball Recap: Pathway Christian Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Pathway Christian Panthers came up short against Faith Christian and fell 55-47.

Despite the loss, Pathway Christian still got an impressive performance from Denver Nelson, who went 6 for 12 en route to 17 points and four steals. The contest was Nelson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Yutzy, who posted nine points and five assists.

Even though they lost, Pathway Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Faith Christian only racked up seven assists.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Faith Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mark Kincer, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds. Kincer is becoming a predictor of Faith Christian's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 4-2 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Blake Houtari was another key player, putting up 11 points and six rebounds.

Pathway Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-8. As for Faith Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-6.
